Evolution and Human Value/Dignity

Evolutionists teach that we are nothing more than:

  • matter in motion
  • advanced chemical reactions
  • animals that descended from primates
There is a huge contradiction with these beliefs and other beliefs that evolutionists and atheists hold. They believe we are nothing more than animals, but they don’t act like it in their every day lives. They still go home and kiss their wives/husbands like they are more than just an advanced chemical reaction. They still look at their children

(hopefully) as being worthy of love. The question I must ask is “Can’t you see the inconsistency between your professed beliefs and your practices?” Any unbeliever today that sees a Christian doing something that is contrary to their beliefs has no problem telling them about their inconsistent life and their hypocrisy. Those who believe in evolution and live like they don’t believe it are hypocrites.
Why is it that evolutionists and atheists have issues with masked gunmen going into schools and killing children and teachers? Why is it that they have issues with religious fanatics flying airplanes into buildings? If evolution is true, all we see happening is one chemical reaction causing another chemical reaction to cease. If evolution is true, there simply is not a moral reason to treat another human as though they are of more value than another primate. There is no sanctity of human life.

If evolutionists were consistent, they would heartedly agree with Richard Dawkins when he said on Twitter:

The only way an evolutionist can believe that humans have more value than other animals is if they are either inconsistent or completely subjective and arbitrary in making qualifications of what makes one animal more valuable than others. One atheist on my twitter page said that humans are more valuable than animals because of their ability to reason. Although even the ability to reason is not consistent with evolutionary beliefs, it is not a justifiable reason to look at humans as being more valuable. There are humans that do not reason properly. Does this make them less valuable than humans that can reason properly? If so, where do you draw the line? Any manmade standard will end up being arbitrary like this one.

The reason why we value human life above other life is not based on evolution, but on Biblical principles. An atheistic worldview must borrow from a theistic worldview to give humans more value than turtles. Evolution played out to its natural end would mean that the humans that are strongest rid the world of the weak. The survival of the fittest is the standard of morality and value. This is what Hitler believed. He took evolution to its natural end. HE gave a value he wanted to certain groups of people. He believed they were not the fittest races, and he decided to exterminate them. The same thing is happening today. The modern holocaust of abortion ends a human life that has value because that baby is being formed and made in the image of God. This is what evolutionary indoctrination looks like. This is how products of evolution should look at each other. If not, why?

“Is Hell Real?” Tract

Many people struggle with this question. Give them a Biblical answer with this tract.

Is Hell Real

Back of card:

The fact that God is loving has led many people to question whether Hell, a place of eternal suffering, exists. But the Bible is clear that such a place does exist. It is described as a lake of fire where people who sin against God will be tormented for eternity (2 Thessalonians 1:8-10; Revelation 20:10). God is not only a loving God, but also a God of wrath and indignation (Psalm 5:5; 7:11). If God would let rebellious criminals go, He would not be a just and good Judge. If God were to give you justice, would you end up in heaven or hell? Have you ever lied? Looked with lust? Hated someone? Stolen? If you have done these things, then you are a liar, an adulterer (Matt. 5:28), a murderer (1 John 3:15), and a thief. Your sin separates you from God, the source of spiritual life. You are dead spiritually and are deserving of His wrath. But this is not what God desires for you. God sent His Son (Jesus) to this earth to be a sacrifice for your sins. He died for you and was raised from His tomb by God so you can have the hope of eternal life. If you believe this message (the Gospel), submit to Jesus Christ,  and turn from your sins, God will raise you out of the hopeless state of death you are in, wash away your sins, and give you new life (Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 6:1-7; Colossians 2:11-14).

Open Air: The God of Love and Judgment

9-20-12 Open Air (The God of Love and Judgment)

I opened up this sermon talking about the false Gods people worship thinking they are the Biblical God. He is not only a God of love, but also of judgment. If you look at Him as only a God of love, you may be worshiping an idol. There is only one God that can save.

Chick-Fil-A and Hypocrisy?

Here is a great article about the events of yesterday’s clear support of Chick-Fil-A by many Americans that hold Biblical values. It is very helpful in showing that we need to have just as much passion for other truths of the Bible. Sometimes we can be guilty of having our “pet” sins that we tend to give all of our attention to in politics.

Sermon: Serving God by Serving Others

Sometimes we tend to separate our service to God and our service to others. We tend to forget that the majority of our service to God is done in our interactions with other people. If we love God, we will show it in how we love others. If we have faith, it will show in our works towards others. Here is a sermon I preached awhile back on this subject.

Serving God by Serving Others

Sermon: The Anger and Hatred of God

hell-1_thumb1I started a series of sermons on Sunday at a church I preach at one Sunday per month titled “Prepare to Meet Your God” which will examine the character and nature of God. Here is the first sermon of this series:

The Anger and Hatred of God

Ezekiel Lessons: Speak God’s Word, Not Ours

Ezekiel 3:4
Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.

Ezekiel 3:11
And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord God…’

What message was Ezekiel commissioned to share? There was only one message that was given to him: what GOD gave him. This is what he was commanded to speak to the people. To speak anything else or do anything else other than what the Lord commands would put Ezekiel into the same condition of rebellion as the people.

What is it that we are sharing with the lost? What are we saying to bring them to Christ. You hopefully are saying to yourself, “The Gospel of Jesus Christ.” If that is your answer, GREAT! But it is sad that there are so many that don’t share the gospel first aswolf in sheeps clothing Jesus Himself commanded (Matthew 28:18-20).

There are some who claim to be Christians that are trying to attract people to their churches instead of Christ because of the great children’s ministry, the great worship band, the big festivals and social meals, etc. There is so much focus on feeding the carnal side of man instead of the gospel and attracting them to Jesus in these ways that just are NOT biblical. These things are not the gospel.

There are others that share a more appealing message instead of the gospel; a message that does not talk about sin, hell, or repentance. They like to share a gospel that focuses mainly on the love of God and never looks at the justice of God. Whenever they do this they teach a different gospel and a DIFFERENT GOD! These men along with others who are teaching false things are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are not bringing people to Jesus Christ, but to a Jesus of their own making.

Ezekiel dealt with men who were doing this also. There were false prophets giving the Israelites a false sense of security, making them think that they were ok in their rebellion. In chapter 13:8, the Lord said to these men who were giving a false sense of security to His people, “I am indeed against you.”

Only God’s word can satisfy man’s greatest need; fellowship with the God of Heaven. Only the gospel that our God has given can save. People must hear about their sin and their need for repentance if they are going to be truly converted to Christ! In Galatians chapter one, Paul wrote of those who were bringing a different gospel than what was first preached. He said that he marveled that the Galatians were so quickly turning to another gospel, which was not really a gospel at all. There is only one gospel that the Lord has given; one “good news” on how we can be set free from sin. Anything else is not good news, because it cannot save.

But what if the preaching of God’s word does not bring the people to Christ? Well, this may sound harsh, but: SO BE IT! It is better for the church that those who won’t accept God’s word not be in their number instead of changing the message or adding carnal things to the message to try to bring the unregenerate in. Remember, our goal is to make DISCIPLES.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20).
